Makes about 2 quarts
Peel of 1 Lemon
½ of a Vanilla Bean
1 Cup of Sugar
1 Cup of Water
In a small saucepan bring the sugar and water to a boil. Add the lemon peel and split and scrape the vanilla bean into the pot and simmer for 5 minutes. In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice and strained simple syrup. Add 4 cups of water and stir.
